Barcelona, Spain

Where to visit:

1. La Rambla
La Rambla is the perfect place to get a real feel for Barcelona. This street has become very well known over the years as the central meeting place for all the locals. The street is filled with tourists, locals, street artists as well as landmark buildings like the greatest theatre of Barcelona’s opera (the Gran Teatre del Liceu), the Palau de la Virreina and the Boqueria Market.

The evening street artists are the ones to see! Their energy brings a whole new energy to the street and bring La Rambla to life! The famous Columbus monument is also located at the tip of the street where La Rambla meets the sea.

2. Sagrada Familia

This historic church brings thousands of visitors in each day. Famous artist Antoni Gaudi transformed the church into one of the icons of Barcelona. The church is beautifully sculpted but is still under construction. For a small fee, you can go inside the church and see how beautiful it is from the inside and not just from the outside. Although you can take great pictures from outside too!

3. Park Guell

Gaudi made his mark through creating a park full of imagination and vibrant colours. This public park is free to visit and walk around. You’ll be truly astonished when you see the unusual architecture blended in with the natural surroundings of Barcelona.

4. Mount Tibidabo

Being the tallest point in Barcelona, Mount Tibitabo offers the most amazing views of the city! The church of Sagrat Cor stands right at the top of Mount Tibitabo over the beautiful scenery.

5. Camp Nou

You definitely have to take a trip to the stadium of Barcelona’s legendary football club. Being one of the teams with the most titles in the world, the museum filled with all their trophies and memorabilia is one to see! You’ll get to take a tour into the dressing rooms, press booths and see the stadium inside for yourself.

6. Nightlife

Known for its electronic music scene, Barcelona is the perfect place for students who want a good night. There are many parts of the city to go out in including the very popular bar crawls!

Price:
You can find return flights from the UK for as little as£49! Many attractions are free so for you students who are looking for a cheap but amazing holiday, Barcelona is definitely the place to go!

Hotels:

- EuroPark Hotel
- Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya
- Soho Hotel
- Hotel Praktik Rambla
- Barcelona Universal Hotel

Review:
Barcelona is definitely the place to visit for a relaxing but fun short city break! My favourite included visiting the football stadium and seeing the amazing views from Mount Tibidabo! It is fairly cheap and so easy to travel around the city; you actually get used to the city quite quickly!
